Job Description

Pie's mission is to empower small businesses to thrive by making commercial insurance affordable and as easy as pie. We leverage technology to transform how small businesses buy and experience commercial insurance.

Like our small business customers, we are a diverse team of builders, dreamers, and entrepreneurs who are driven by core values and operating principles that guide every decision we make.

Role Overview

As Program Manager, you will organize, oversee, and monitor cross-departmental initiatives that all contribute to the same business objectives and are grouped into programs. Each program as a whole has clearly-defined value-driven business goals, and each project or initiative within the program assists in building value and meeting those objectives.

You will have the opportunity to cultivate strong relationships across the organization while working with internal and external stakeholders (eg. Partners, Vendors; both technical and business-facing) to optimize our collective delivery frameworks and maximize the value of these relationships, while providing transparency and visibility across the business.

The ideal Program Manager candidate will also have a proven track record of delivering cross-functional technology projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

How You’ll Do It

  • Design and Analyze
  • Build and maintain plans, prioritizing initiatives and project activities
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to build consensus on the program's goals, supporting initiatives, and contributors (i.e. Product, Engineering, Underwriting & Analytics, Customer Success, Partner Experience, Audit, Claims, Legal & Compliance, Finance, Marketing)
  • Collaborate & Translate
  • Translate interdependencies between departments and portfolios into adaptive resourcing when new opportunities arise and plans change
  • Oversee the execution of initiatives, whether managed directly by the Program Manager or delegated to project teams
  • Lead, oversee, or participate in systems-related vendor relationships and activities as needed
  • Remediate program challenges and escalate as necessary. Identify program risks and build remediation plans
  • Lead & Develop
  • Develop program assessment mechanisms for evaluation and continuous improvement of Pie systems
  • Report progress toward goals, OKR’s and KPI’s
  • Reinforce and contribute to our company’s culture of build-measure-learn cycles, fostering small changes, experiments, and data-driven decision-making practices

  • Our core values are more than just a poster on the wall; they’re tangibly reflected in our work

Our goal is to make all aspects of working with us as easy as pie. That includes our offer process. When we’ve identified a talented individual who we’d like to be a Pie-oneer , we work hard to present an equitable and fair offer. We look at the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience, along with their compensation expectations and align that with our company equity processes to determine our offer ranges.
