WHAT IS THE JOB?
AVID Center is currently looking for a motivated and knowledgeable educational leader to join our team in the role of Program Manager, Central Region, living in and supporting either Detroit, MI, or Madison, WI. This influential position offers the ability to make a huge impact on students, families, and communities in the region. Program Managers work directly with schools and district personnel, at all levels of leadership, to implement, manage, and grow the AVID College Readiness System.

- Generous Paid Time Off: This position is eligible for22 days of PTOper year, with12 paid holidays plus a winter break in between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
- Continued education opportunities: All full-time employees with at least 1 year of continuous AVID Center service are eligible for $5,250 per calendar year in tuition reimbursement for qualifying coursework or certification.

Pay rates for this position
We bring in all employees at the midpoint of the salary range for your role. Knowing that not all cities share the same cost of labor, we make offers using a tiered approach based on your geography. The majority of our employee-base live in a Zone 1 or Zone 2 location.
For the Program Manager position, here is what we will offer:
Zone 1 (e.g. Charleston, WV, Cleveland, OH, Yuma, AZ, Omaha, NE, etc.): $103,659 annually
Zone 2 (e.g. Syracuse, NY, Ann Arbor, MI, Denver, CO, San Diego, CA, etc.): $111,434 annually
Zone 3 (e.g. Washington, D.C., Trenton, NJ, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, etc.): $119,208 annually
Zone 4 (e.g. Bridgeport, CT, New York City, NY, San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, etc.): $132,166 annually
WHO ARE YOU?
- You are an educator at your core and have experience with the AVID College and Career Readiness Systems as an AVID teacher, AVID Coordinator, AVID Administrator, AVID District Director, and/or AVID Staff Developer.
- You are aleaderon your campus, whether that is with your students in your classroom or in an official leadership capacity at the site or district-level.
- You are a facilitator and developer and have exceptional relational capacity with a knack for motivating, leading, and mentoring fellow educators.
- You are acommunicator and excel at instructing with varying levels of leadership, educators, and students.
- You are acoach and enjoy the process of leading a team through an implementation, project, professional learning, and improvement plans.
- Others describe you as alistener because you know how to listen to individual needs and successfully align them with resolutions and successful outcomes.
- The ability and motivation for frequent travel (50%) and working remotely.
- You like to get in the weeds withdata and have familiarity using data to inform your work, especially when it comes to the success of AVID.
- You have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field and bring a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and knowledge of college and career readiness systems.
- You are comfortable working remotely with an ability for frequent travel within your assigned territory (about 50%).
- Must be located in Detroit, MI, or Madison, WI, or must be willing to relocate for the position.
NICE TO HAVES?
- Professional AVID Experience (AVID elective teacher, site coordinator, District Director, staff developer, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of the AVID College & Career Readiness Framework
- Administrative, leadership or management experience in an education setting
- Experience in serving non-profit organizations or educational institutions, which prepare students for success in high school, college, and career, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education
- Master's degree or higher in education or related field
*Allowable Substitutions: Any combination of experience, training or credential certification endorsement that provides the incumbent/applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work, as determined by the AVID Center. Qualifying work experience, as identified by the Senior Director, Human Resources may substitute for the education requirement.
