As a Program Manager II, you will support the business operations at Sierra Space. You will be responsible for all programmatic aspects of your assigned projects with specifically focused responsibility for customer relationship, cost, schedule and technical planning, tracking and reporting, technical execution, and ensuring overall program performance objectives are achieved. You will participate in business resource planning/tracking in coordination with other corporate entities and responsible to formulate a team that can fulfill program requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring program issues and problems are identified, tracked, and resolved. You will be responsible for program risk management and ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, tracked, and managed. You'll be responsible for conducting routine meetings, interfacing on project/program status, developing proposals, researching/fact-finding, coordinating audits, and negotiating with project/program stakeholders to ensure enterprise initiatives meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints. You'll support the program director and Business Operations in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations. This role will provide both technical and management leadership functions as a deputy to the Uncrewed Dream Chaser (UDC) Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead. This person will support all design, build, and test activities for Uncrewed Dream Chasers, including Tail #1, Tail #2, and Internal Research and Development activities for vehicle upgrades.

  • Network and Instrumentation

Across the following production lifecycles:
  • Design
  • Analysis
  • Qualification
  • Verification
  • Supply Chain
  • Production
  • Functional Testing

In addition to supporting activities including:
  • Earned Value Management
  • Monthly performance tracking
  • Audit responses
  • Internal Research and Development management
  • Resource charging
  • Performance Metrics
  • Executive briefings
  • Customer deliverables
  • Customer presentations
  • Tools & processes
  • Product strategy
  • Spares planning
  • Capital expenditure planning

Must-haves:
  • Program Management experience, Integrated Product Team lead experience, or other technical leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical related discipline
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced commercial environment.

  • Mastery of the ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
  • Proven experience and skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, and literacy in the program or technical management disciplines.

Preferred:
  • Aerospace industry program management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Program Management Institute Program Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Managing projects requiring Earned Value Management
  • Understanding with application tools and data architectures
  • Ability to lead PM process & tool improvement for the Enterprise.
  • Ability to keep program management informed of function & process changes within project controls.
  • Ability to enhance program management expertise in the staff
  • Ability to establish new & further refining existing templates, tools, & guidelines for program documentation & execution.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $138,634.92 - $190,623.01
Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
