Your Opportunity
Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. (Stantec) seeks a Natural Capital Program Manager (PM)
to support the overall strategy and vision for expanding Stantec's Natural Capital Program (NCP) portfolio. The PM will leverage their experience in growing and operating programs to identify and pursue key growth opportunities, manage NCP projects and personnel, and provide operational and organizational support to bolster the development of the NCP. The PM will actively engage with other business units and technical professionals, and work with all levels of technical expertise, from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their own fields.
The PM will leverage Stantec's relevant capabilities, technical expertise and experience to deliver innovative and strategic solutions that support achievement of NCP client goals and priorities effectively and sustainably. This position is responsible for developing new and cultivating existing relationships through interactions on existing and future projects. This role supports and executes the strategic plan and is responsible for expanding the NCP footprint through client relationship development, project delivery oversight, and financial management, including achieving targets for sales, revenue, and profit. The PM role manages client satisfaction, matrixed teams, and project health and supports program leadership externally at key conferences and industry events that are relevant to Stantec clients and NCP goals.
The PM is responsible for disseminating client priorities to key internal stakeholders, such as project teams and business development staff, to ensure operational excellence and inform marketing and business development campaigns. The PM manages project teams and technical experts and is responsible for the cross-functional matrix management of project delivery and technical staff. The PM's communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders are key to ensuring the NCP remains focused on client priorities and meets financial revenue and sales targets.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Function as a leader in the delivery of projects for NCP clients.
- Develop management system to support program management including but not limited the following goals:
- Provide strategic support to the program leadership in the growth of the NCP to ensure long-term, sustainable organizational development.
- Support client/project teams through strategy, mentorship and direct participation in internal communications and client interactions, and large proposals/strategic pursuits.
- Provide technical and risk review of proposals and key project deliverables.
- Ensure involvement of Technical Managers/SMEs in projects to facilitate technology transfer, technical reviews and sharing of lessons learned.
- Ensure that project teams manage budgets, project staff, subcontractors, task schedules, change orders, project risks, invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, and budgeted project revenue and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for continual improvement in business processes.
- Ensure that teams manage project conformance with respect to quality and safety guidelines as specified in Stantec's Project Management Model.
- Conduct client check in calls to assess project performance, potential project concerns and potential new opportunities.
- Anticipate clients' needs and motivate or influence teams to deliver client service excellence.
- Achieve positive client feedback as determined by project closeout and client satisfaction surveys.
- Ensure the project teams meet project delivery commitments - budget, scope, schedule, deliverable quality, and client expectations.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Externally recognized subject matter expert in field of technical expertise.
- Proven track record of management and leadership, including project leadership, and prior experience managing large projects.
- Ability to lead teams and create followership.
- Strong collaborator with a history of maintaining successful relationships internally and externally.
- Strong ability to bring a blend of business development and operations leadership capabilities to the team.
- Experience supervising extensive project teams across a variety of disciplines at disperse geographic locations.
- Demonstrates competitive writing and communication skills and experience
- 10 years of progressive experience in program management, client relationship management, and technical professional services delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field, and a commitment to life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification.
- Advanced degree in Management or related field.
- Experience working in highly collaborative, matrixed environments.
- Experience with Natural Capital or Natural Resource Valuation.
- Experience in Natural Resource Damage Assessments (NRDA)
- Experience in Nature-based Solutions (NbS)
