LOCATION: Los Angeles 

REPORTS TO: Sr. Program Director, Strategic Partnerships

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Program Manager will partner with the Sr. Program Director to cultivate and manage implementation of LIFT-LA’s Technical Assistance (TA) partnerships by leveraging previous TA experience, improving LIFT’s TA services, and supporting external stakeholders with integrating new practices and tools into their programming. The Program Manager will be responsible for ongoing knowledge management in partnership with LIFT’s National Program team, supporting continuous improvement of LIFT’s TA services and approach, regional TA implementation and managing regional partnerships. 

Along with the Executive Director, Director of Development and the Sr. Program Director, the Program Manager will additionally pursue opportunities for expansion with new TA partnerships in Los Angeles within LIFT’s priority sectors: pediatric healthcare, community colleges, government social services, and early childhood education. 

The Program Manager will also partner with the National Program Manager for Training and Technical Assistance, providing support and thought partnership on LIFT’s coaching model, ongoing trainings, skill building and improvements for external partners. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with 5+ years of experience to join an expanding and supportive team. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about economic mobility and LIFT’s priority sectors (pediatric healthcare, community colleges, government social services, and early childhood education), has demonstrated expertise in training development and facilitation, brings project management skills as well as experience with partnership and relationship management, and has demonstrated ability engaging with diverse communities.  

 

AS PROGRAM MANAGER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE YOU WILL:   

  • Participate/ provide support to the development and design of technical assistance programming, ensuring that LIFT continues to deliver best in class service to its TA partner organizations 
  • Assist the Sr. Program Director as well as the Executive Director and Director of Development in identifying, developing, cultivating and managing technical assistance partnerships 
  • Collaborate with LIFT Los Angeles’s Executive Director and Development team to secure and manage funding for this work 
  • Ensure effective and efficient implementation of LIFT’s technical assistance in Los Angeles to deliver high quality responsive supports that facilitate and promote high-quality integration of LIFT’s coaching model  
  • Provide excellent project and partnership management and tracking skills to ensure LIFT-LA meets both funding and technical assistance partnership goals and deliverables. Coordinate across regional and national teams—leveraging both cross and upward management skills—to ensure all team members stay up-to-date and aligned.  
  • Develop clear external and internal communication tools—such as email correspondence, one-page documents and materials—to facilitate partnerships and to market the program.  
  • Partner with LIFT’s National team to improve internal coach training materials and approach, including overall training strategy, facilitation resources, implementation guidance, and measuring changes in coach knowledge, skills, and abilities to make proper shifts/ updates to training tools used with TA partners. 
  • Collaborate with LIFT’s evaluation team and the National Manager for Training and Technical Assistance on the design and implementation of LIFT’s evaluation efforts to measure the impact of LIFT’s TA work, including refining approaches to ensure continuous quality improvement based on internal and external stakeholder feedback and self-assessment. 

 

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE   

  • 5+ years of professional experience working in training and facilitation, partnership cultivation and management, with diverse communities 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with overlapping timelines, multiple stakeholders, and clear deadlines; highly organized and detail-oriented 
  • Robust training development, curriculum development, and facilitation experience 
  • Experience delivering virtual trainings and using participatory training techniques, using clear and compelling verbal and written communication 
  • Experience working with families living with low-income and/or in economic mobility programs, and proven ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse populations in a culturally sensitive way  
  • Familiarity with LIFT’s priority sectors preferred (including pediatric healthcare, community colleges, government social services, and early childhood education) 
  • Skilled in internal and external written and verbal communications 
  • Proven ability to establish and strengthen relationships with external partners and internal, cross-department teammates 
  • Outstanding leadership and managerial skills; able to strive to improve individual and organizational contributions 
  • Committed to LIFT’s values of equity, relationships, diversity, hope and excellence  
  • Skilled with using data to learn and improve service delivery 
  • Spanish preferred but not required

WHAT WE OFFER: 

  • LIFT’s compensation philosophy is to pay competitively for our non-profit sector and ensure equity across the organization. The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $73,000. Compensation for the role will depend on several factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside the range shown.  
  • LIFT provides an attractive benefits package that includes employer-paid health care coverage (100% for employees, 75% for dependents), a 403(b) retirement plan including an employer match contribution, 12 weeks paid parental leave, partial cell phone coverage, and pre-tax accounts for transit, health, and childcare benefits. LIFT also provides a generous paid-time-off policy, including one-week company-wide vacation over the winter holidays and a one-week company-wide vacation over the summer fiscal year transition.
