Program Specialist

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet A, B, or C defined below.

GS-09
A. Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-09, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1) Participating in the development and implementation of programs involving, and in support of, consumer protection issues;
2) Researching and analyzing information and documentation used in case development;
3) Providing informational presentations to a range of audiences;
4) Providing written and oral responses to requests for information;
5) Providing editorial and production support for publications.
MUST MEET 3 OUT OF 5.

B. Education: Possess 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.).

C. Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: Possess a combination of graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

GS-11
A. Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-11, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1) Participating in the development and implementation of programs involving, and in support of, consumer protection issues;
2) Researching and analyzing information and documentation used in case development;
3) Providing informational presentations to a range of audiences;
4) Providing written and oral responses to requests for information;
5) Providing editorial and production support for publications.
MUST MEET 4 OUT OF 5.

B. Education: Possess 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or LL.M, if related.

C. Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: Possess a combination of graduate level education beyond the first 2 years of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
