Job Description
Summary
The position is located at Member Services (MS), Resource Management (RM), Facilities and Logistics Division, Mail and Imaging Branch. The incumbent serves as the Lead Program Support Assistant (PSA) at the MS facility located in Atlanta, GA and provides support services program coordination and administrative support to the supervisor and lower level team members.
This is not a virtual/remote position. Selected candidate must report to duty location in Atlanta, GA.

- Physical Requirements: The work required does not inherently include any physical requirements essential for successful job performance that could not otherwise be performed with accommodation or workplace adjustment. A pre-placement physical examination is not required.
- While portions of the work are sedentary, another portion requires prolonged standing, mobility, stooping, bending, and lifting of heavy packages, mail bags, and supply boxes up to 50 pounds
- You may be required to serve a probationary period
- Subject to background/security investigation

Qualifications
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-05, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience include: Providing support of mail operations, including incoming mail, mail distribution, and outgoing mail; Serving as a team lead in the work area (delegating tasks, coaching, mentoring, attending meetings in absence of supervisor, etc.); Effectively interacting with external and internal stakeholders; Conducting mailroom checks to ensure compliance with all federal regulations and internal controls; Operating different types of machines/equipment in the work area (mail, copy, scanning, etc.); Tracking and retrieving information; Creating routine process documents such as SOPs, job analysis and other polices/procedures
- Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business administration or another related field.
- Combination: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
