As the Programmer Analyst, you will produce or modify computer programs of all sizes and complexity. You will perform programming duties at the systems level, ensuring all program development is appropriate, including front-end research and definition. You will also develop an understanding of assignments including the business application, in order to either assist in making solution-oriented recommendations or advising on program/systems-related problems. Additionally, you will:

• Work with some supervision and be responsible for making a minimal range of decisions, escalating to a manager when appropriate and updating a manager on a regular basis
• Research, design, define, develop, test, document, and implement new computer applications or changes to existing applications following company standards
• Install software packages and personal computer software
• Assure that hardware and software operate efficiently
• Utilize programming tools effectively to ensure accuracy and enhance productivity
• Assemble and analyze data relating to processing problems, soliciting help as needed from IT and business unit associates
• Consult and advise business unit associates by written and verbal communication on inquiries concerning existing or proposed systems
• Participate in committee meetings on developmental projects, large-scale improvement projects, and internal IT technical committees
• Provide training to other programming staff or business unit associates on technical topics or systems definition
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

What You'll Need to be Successful:

• Bachelor's degree
• Proven programming experience in research, design, gathering requirements, working with business units, developing programs, testing, documentation, and production support
• Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying, defining and quantifying problems, collecting or interpreting data, establishing facts, and providing effective solutions
• Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team
• Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to occasionally conveys information to internal and external customers in a clear, accurate, focused, and concise manner
• Proven examples of working under multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to document procedures and activities in a manner that is understandable to others and prepared using a prescribed format
• Able to continually perform activities such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and read extensively
• Proficient in a variety of programming languages
• Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications
