A Brief Summary of This Position:
Valmont is seeking a Programmer Analyst Intern to join the Irrigation division. The Programmer Analyst Intern is accountable for planning, supporting, and launching efficient business and operations systems/processes. This includes gathering business requirements from product owners. The incumbent will apply proven communication, analytical, testing, and problem-solving skills to help create efficient and effective systems and processes. The incumbent will assist with projects and help deliver results that will benefit the organization. The incumbent will have the ability to work well in a diverse team environment that has the aptitude to work with multiple teams across the world. The incumbent would be part of a high performing team that expects as much from themselves as they do from each other.
Valmont's internship program mission is to provide hands-on learning experience through project work, leadership development, job shadowing and interaction with senior leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Performs project definition, analysis, and design activities on some complex applications.
- Functions as primary user contact for selected applications.
- Writes, documents, implements, and maintains efficient computer program and systems.
- Provide quality products, processes, and services to achieve company goals.
- Create and manage some database object with the help of senior leadership.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Undergraduate or graduate level standing pursuing a Bachelor's (with Junior and Senior standing) or master's degree in information systems.
- Experience with Java, C# and .NET programming languages
- Willing to work independently or as part of a team.
- Project management and problem-solving skillsets.
- Self-learner
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Ability to stay current on all new developments within the Oracle database, C# and .NET programming languages
- Commitment to provide quality programs and services to both internal and external customers.
- Attention to detail and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Knowledge of the material, costs, techniques, and processes used within the area.

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office/remote setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests.
