Programs & Operations Manager

About the role: 

As the Programs & Operations Manager at Altium, you will play a pivotal role in driving the seamless execution of our product development initiatives. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational aspects of our programs, ensuring alignment with the overall product roadmap. This role requireS a blend of operational prowess, strong communication skills, cross-departmental coordination, and a deep understanding of product management within a software development environment. This is a US-based remote position with the option for a hybrid work arrangement, ideal for those residing in proximity to our La Jolla, CA office who prefer a mix of remote and office-based work.

 A day in the life of our Programs & Operations Manager: 

• Managing Internal Flows and Processes: Overseeing the operational aspects within the Product Management Team, working closely with Heads of Product to optimize processes.
• Establishing Information Roadmap Flows: Collaborating with the Product Architecture group, particularly with the CTO and VP of Engineering, to ensure alignment of timelines with the overall product roadmap
• Engaging with Engineering Planning Team: Collaborating on quarter-planning procedures and activities, likely involving resource allocation and project scheduling
• Leading Cross-Departmental Programs and Projects: Overseeing initiatives that involve heavy coordination across different departments or with external partners, particularly where the organizational aspects are more challenging than the product complexity itself
• Orchestrating Product Operations Activities: Ensuring alignment and coordination among Licensing, Product, Engineering, and Sales Operations teams during new product and app launches
• Facilitating Communication Between Product Team and C-suite: Acting as a liaison to ensure effective communication and alignment between the Product Team and the higher management level
• Monitoring Cohesion Between Product Roadmaps, Plans, and Engineering Execution: Ensuring consistency and alignment between the proposed product roadmaps, plans, and their actual execution by the Product Management team

Who We’re Looking For, What You Need for This Position:

• You are intimately familiar with software development, preferably within a product company
• Prior experience in leading product-related projects is considered advantageous
• Strong understanding of Product Management, including roadmaps and product planning. Experience working closely with Product Managers is valued
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to understand the company's product portfolio are essential, as the role requires a deeper comprehension beyond typical project/program management
• Prioritizing understanding, proactive initiatives, and adaptability over rigid processes and formalities
• While not explicitly required, this role seems more focused on operations and coordination rather than budget management or direct oversight of engineering resources

The range for this role is $140,000.00 - $240,000.00. Actual compensation packages within this range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate and role requirements, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
