Project Accountant

Position:Project Accountant Hours:Monday - Friday (hybrid schedule with one day in office) Reporting to:Director of Accounting Responsibilities  Perform monthly and year-end close activities and reconciliations for properties  Work in Accounts Payable on various tasks  Approve and process invoices for payment  Maintain fixed asset registers and accumulated depreciation schedules  Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial information regarding profitability, capital expenditures, and performance against budget for the company's portfolio of assets  Participate in cash management and treasury functions  Assist in external audit compliance  Ad-hoc project work as needed Attributes and Qualifications:  Willingness to learn and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment  The ideal candidate would have 1+ year of accounting experience, ideally at a real estate operating company. Candidates with limited work experience but with academic background in accounting are welcome to apply.  Demonstrated interest in accounting  Ability to work cross-functionally and asynchronously with remote and in-person teams  Excellent organizational skills and discipline to stay focused Location:  Chicago, IL Education: Bachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred, ideally in accounting. Compensation: Starting salary $60,000 plus bonus potential. This position is intended as an entry-level position with potential for growth into a Property Accountant.
