Role Overview

The North America Actuarial team is responsible for delivering actuarial analysis, expertise, and advice to senior management that lead the General Insurance business. The Project Analyst role we are hiring will support tracking progress of activities on behalf of North America Actuarial leadership and general support/management on department-wide projects. Typical workload includes multiple highly visible projects involving various business areas that require a problem solver to take ownership and drive results. What to expect:
  • Exposure to all General Insurance (GI) business and products
  • Assist in the development, execution, and tracking of North America Actuarial key strategic projects
  • Interface with AIG Corporate and Business Unit Actuarial teams


Key Responsibilities
  • Tracking progress of activities on behalf of North America Actuarial leadership.
  • Support and help drive key initiatives and department-wide projects.
  • Assist in actuarial support for North America business partners and stakeholders, including managing hoc questions and requests
  • Organize and track key North America Actuarial and cross-functional projects
  • Assist in planning and supporting of key activities including quarter end reporting, annual planning, compile commentary from actuarial product leads for monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Support management reporting as well as consolidation and coordination with the larger General Insurance team. Additionally, this will entail analyzing product and regional level data to investigate key drivers to derive the storyline impacting GI's financial performance.
  • Ensuring effective flow of communication, both across North America Actuarial and amongst North America GI stakeholders
  • Manage or support department-wide initiatives, such as formal rotation program


What we're looking for:

We are looking for an individual who is internally motivated, intellectually curious, has the ability to manage multiple priorities, and is driven to enhance existing processes. The candidate should possess technical and business expertise with the ability to build sustainable, collaborative relationships, influence business stakeholders, and gain commitment from key constituents.

Additional requirements include:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the insurance industry (Commercial P&C lines) is essential
  • 3+ years experience managing or driving projects (preferred)
  • Successful candidate must be self-motivated and a self-starter, have a strong work ethic, and be able to juggle multiple deliverables with tight deadlines
  • Ability to act with a high degree of professionalism since the role will interact with senior leaders
  • Prior experience presenting to senior management is a plus
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products, namely Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong business and collaboration skills and responsive to service needs and operational demands
  • Effective time management skill
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Timeliness and attention to detail
