Your mission

As a Project Buyer at BDR Thermea you are responsible for the Procurement aspects of the projects. This includes monitoring the realization of project objectives with regard to costs, quality and delivery. Thanks to your commercial acumen, in combination with technical knowledge, our project teams can trust that our new programmes will be delivered on time, and on budget.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with the Commodity Management Team to verify that all existing suppliers (Contract/ Audit/ Sustainability) comply and to identify new business opportunities with suitable suppliers. Ensure that sustainability objectives are communicated clearly to suppliers and are attainable.
  • Ensure the supplier adheres to critical project costs, collaborating with suppliers and the R&D team to achieve targets, taking into account design for cost and manufacturability. Utilize Cost Engineering, negotiation, and benchmarking to meet cost objectives. Encourage your internal stakeholders to revisit the design and integrate cost savings into the component design.
  • Oversee all technical modifications to existing products (ECR Process), encompassing cost-saving initiatives for both new and ongoing projects. Develop new cost reduction proposals for review and approval.
  • Encourage supplier innovation, enhance supplier sustainability, and reduce supply chain risk (ensuring these elements are included in new sourcing efforts)
  • Responsible for collecting data on supplier performance and ensuring that sourcing recommendations are made in full cooperation with internal stakeholders (R&D/Quality) and aligned with the group suppliers strategy.
  • Arrange for parts as needed and ensure timely delivery for prototypes, coordinating with country procurement teams to facilitate a smooth transition to series production.
  • Collaborate with the Commodity Management Team to conclude pricing negotiations with suppliers and apply the outcomes to new projects.ยท Works with Suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and project is not delayed.

Your cooperative attitude ensures that you will engage with other stakeholders at BDR Thermea to secure consensus and alignment on a sourcing recommendation consistent with BDR Thermea's Procurement Processes and Preferred Supplier List.

You have drive and perseverance, and you do not give up easily. You are commercial and accurate. You are accustomed to working in multidisciplinary project teams and can take responsibility. You manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep an overview. You interact easily with different people, and working with deadlines motivates you.

Furthermore, you possess:

  • A completed technical or commercial college education;
  • At least 3 years' work experience as a project buyer, preferably in an organisation where series products are developed;
  • Excellent command of the English language both verbally and in writing; An additional foreign language is an advantage;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office Tools and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
