Project Coordinator
Job Description
Handle export and import shipments for Projects clients and Network clients by performing the following duties. Verifies that all proper documentation accompanies shipments. Requests any missing documents from customer or network or USPPI. Informs customer of any problems with the freight -- missing items, damaged pieces, etc. Prepares and transmits pre-alerts to destination office for export and receive documents, handle shipment, communicate progress of Shipment with clients or network offices. Prepares quotations for customer as requested- this should be sporadic as operations should be the priority. Communicates information to customer and vendors via e-mail, fax and telephone. Answers inquiries from customer regarding rates (should forward to pricing most of the time) , routing, packing procedures and interline transportation procedures. Tracks shipments from point of origin to destination for both import and export shipments. Notifies customer of arrival of shipments. Communicates with customs agents regarding procedures for clearing shipments coming into U.S. and notifies the customer when cargo has been cleared . Prepares shipping instructions on cargo going out of U.S. Notifies customer when cargo will arrive at final destination. Corresponds with shipper, ocean lines and/or truckers to trace missing cargo. Files insurance claims for damaged cargo. Prepares reports of transactions to facilitate billing of shippers and foreign customers. Examines documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements, to verify conversion of merchandise weights or volumes into system used by other countries. Converts foreign currency figures into United States monetary equivalents, or domestic currency into foreign equivalents. Corresponds with foreign network. Is responsible for moving shipments on time. Files documents in an accurate manner. Meeting Quality standards set by our QHSE Guidelines and management. Organizes oneself to handle the volume of activity. Reports all serious difficulties to the Branch manager. Prepares quotations which are under the control of the branch manager- if applicable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
5 -8 years minimum related experience and/or training
