Job Description
Passionate about precision medicine and advancing the healthcare industry?
Recent advancements in underlying technology have finally made it possible for AI to impact clinical care in a meaningful way. Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.
With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally decode and process our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before, but providers don't have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of this data. We're on a mission to connect an entire ecosystem to redefine how genomic data is used in clinical settings. We are looking for a Lab Operations Project Manager who will be responsible for the coordination of projects within our labs and with partners.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that deadlines are adhered to; communicate and support assigned project managers in problem solving activities (as needed).
- Responsible for tracking and managing progress on laboratory projects.
- Ensure the schedule, budget and details of a given laboratory project task is well organized and tracked accordingly.
- Support Laboratory Project Managers to ensure that appropriate time and resources are dedicated to support laboratory projects.
- Responsible for coordination across labs, including requesting samples and documents, item coordination, and shipments.
- Escalate any obstacles or barriers to on-time delivery of project tasks and deliverables.
- Communicate directly with various internal and external partners to understand, define, and communicate progress on projects.
- Develop firm understanding of internal lab processes and databases.
- Build and maintain effective relationships which create a high level of trust across multiple functions at Tempus.
- Respond to inquiries by phone, email and in person quickly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- 4-year college degree preferred, in Biological Sciences or similar.
- Strong organizational skills and highly attention to detail and ability to complete tasks on time with a high degree of accuracy.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate across functions and teams.
- Minimum 1–2-years project management experience (i.e., familiar with Gantt charts and other project management tools)
- Formal project management certification preferred, but not required (PMP, Prince2, or similar)
- Show initiative and ability to work as part of a high-level team while working independently.
- Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
