Description

The Project Coordinator will be instrumental to ensuring our pipeline assets are constructed in a safe, quality, compliant, and efficient manner. The pipeline assets constructed by our internal and external crews are the assets that fuel our Company's success and provide millions of customers safe and reliable gas service

Functional Expertise:

  • Provides support and oversight of underground gas infrastructure construction on plastic and steel distribution projects.
  • Coordinates with internal and/or external service providers, support departments (environmental and real estate) and external agencies to ensure work is performed as planned, permitted and scheduled.
  • Reviews and approves work orders, progress reports, field changes, invoices, as-built records and bid contracts to ensure compliance with company standards and policies (as applicable).
  • Provide timely project updates as needed.
  • Provide project specific budget and cost per unit variances and identifies exceptions, as necessary.
  • Review project documentation and permits for completion, prior to project start.
Business Acumen:

  • Analyzes costs and benefits for specific construction projects and evaluates alternatives to ensure cost effectiveness of construction projects.
  • Provides support to evaluate and recommend field design changes to avoid conflicts or obstacles encountered in the field. Helps to keep project on schedule and on budget. Seeks approval from Engineering and project team as required.
  • Assess change order request to ensure charges are prudent.
Engagement:

  • Interprets pipeline contracts to effectively leverage and negotiate the application of contractual items with external service providers.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction through timely and thorough communication with individual customers, municipalities, and other governmental agencies at pre-con meetings and throughout the project (such as state DOTS, Counties, etc).
  • Influences external contractors who represent the company by shadowing corporate values.
  • Creates and/or implements improved processes and techniques to enhance operating environments.
  • Consistently update project management tracking system (Smartsheet, etc) with changes and comments.
Driving Results:

  • Establishes and monitors work goals and objectives.
  • Manage the Statements of Work (SOW's) within the construction track to ensure all deliverables are provided. Audits each vendor for compliance to the SOW.
  • Addresses contractor (performance, construction inspection, as-built survey, etc) deficiencies head on and works with contractor to develop and monitor corrective action plans.
  • Review Pay Item Report weekly.
Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in construction or utility operations
Preferred

  • Vocational Degree or Certificate in a technical field, or
  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
Or

  • Equivalent academic education and experience
Skills:

Required:

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate proficiency with GIS or comparable system
  • Minimal proficiency with Work Management System (WMS) or comparable system
  • Construction Inspection
  • Welding/NDE
  • Material Inspection
Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of Local and State Environmental Regulations
  • Basic knowledge of CFR 49, Part 192 Regulations
  • Basic knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
  • Basic proficiency with CAD Software
  • Basic proficiency with GIS
Certifications/Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's License
