Project Coordinator Intern
Job Description
Medica will host a hybrid, 12-week, paid Internship Program. Interns will have the opportunity to network within Medica and with other Interns through weekly Lunch-and-Learns and opportunities to hear from Executives. We strive to offer a well-rounded education of the inner workings of a health plan. Each internship offers a meaningful experience and impactful projects you'll be able to discuss with future employers. At Medica, we look forward to our Summer Internship Program each year.
Department Introduction:
The Enterprise Platform Services Department at Medica is the main IT delivery area for Medica. The department consists of multiple agile scrum teams which are led by a Scrum Master and Product Owner. The Scrum teams are organized around primary delivery domains: Claims, Member, Provider, Consumer & Sales. These scrum teams work to deliver requested scope against Medica's roadmap and primary delivery objectives.
Work Expectations:
- Product Calendar Management/Coordination
- Assist with Project Documentation and Reporting
- Assist with Agile Feature and Story tool set-up
- Assist the Scrum Master with coordination tasks
- demand management and reporting,
- resource plan entry
- Drawing reports from source systems for resource, capacity and allocation planning with proper direction
- Action items/agendas/scheduling and other follow-up for Scrum teams
- Issue follow-up and monitoring tasks at others' direction
- Assist in Program Increment Planning and Preparation in conjunction with Product Owner and Scrum Masters
Desired Outcomes:
Project coordination and alleviation of day-to-day product team tasks. Improved process flow and turn-around times for demands, Agile ceremonies, features and stories. Improved transparency and efficiency for project status and portfolio management.
Gained Experience:
Knowledge and Experience of Agile Scrum teams, Scaled Agile processes and ceremonies, Agile ceremonies, functions of a high performing HealthCare IT Delivery organization
Qualifications:
Applicant should be going into Junior or Senior Year
Majors - IT, Health Care, or Business-related field preferred but not required
Functional/technical experiences - Microsoft Office suite experience
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple tasks
High degree of organization and self-motivation
Effective communication skills
Results oriented
Strong coordination and facilitation skills
This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to the Minnetonka office for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.
