WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Cost Analyst for our Baltimore office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM group and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact:
- The Project Cost Analyst (PCA) reviews operational and project costs to ensure that funds are being properly allocated, utilized, and reported. The Project Cost Analyst works closely with counterparts in Capital Programming, Finance, and Accounting to ensure that the finances and accounts payable of the Construction Management Division are handled effectively and efficiently. As such, their duties include:
- General monitoring of project costs during the Construction phase, including Review of cost reporting from various departments Review of accounting records Review of expected vs. actual expenditure.
- Works in coordination with AM, RE, and/or OEs to resolve financial discrepancies as related to Contractor payments and available/forecasted funding.
- Interfaces with counterparts in Capital Programming, Finance, and Accounting to ensure that financial reporting (both actual and forecast) is accurate and up to date.
- Assists AM's with the development of cost projections for individual projects.
- Assists in the development of fiscal reporting and summaries as required.
- Assists upper management in the development of financial/budgetary strategies.
- Works to prevent cost shortfalls and excesses by preemptively recommending reallocation of funds.
- Works to determine whether allocated funds have been spent procedurally according to policies set by the Division, IGA's, Grant Agreements, etc.
- Independently recognize and identify budgetary needs and/or potential areas for improvement and develop suitable recommendations.
- Support in handling department-wide budget and tracking expenditures.
Who You Are
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- 3 years full-time work experience in Construction Management or as a Project Support related positon
- Exceptional computer skills, such as utilization of the advanced features of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with A/E contracts and A/E invoicing.
