Position Description
Origis Energy is looking for an experienced Project Development Manager to join our growing, experienced project development team with the main objective of driving additional pipeline growth and project successes in both utility scale solar and energy storage.  Knowledge of three or more of the following is required: solar siting and land acquisition documentation, Federal, State & Local solar project permitting, interconnection study process experience, clean energy financial modeling experience, a technical understanding of solar + storage projects, RFP assembly and response support, PPA negotiations support, project finance negotiations support and/or wholesale market/RTO market operations knowledge.
The position of Project Development Manager or Director reports to the Senior Director of Development and is a regular, full-time position eligible for our generous employee benefits package; including employer-paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of all aspects of solar and storage project permitting
- Evaluate transmission grids and land constraints to make comprehensive presentations to management on ideal locations for new projects
- Interface directly with land owners, land consultants to secure selected sites
- Support early stage interconnection team with applications, following interconnection process management
- Work with comprehensive project teams using Origis Tier 1 consultants to conduct early-stage risk analysis
- Assist in PPA negotiations and management customer relations during development
- Organize and share development documentation with Origis Finance and Construction teams to assure project success and profitability
- Manage vendors and project budgets through SAP system
Preferred Qualifications
- BS and/or BA, MBA preferred
- 3-6+ years of increasingly progressive development / origination / solar finance experience
- Familiarity with solar development tools such as: PV Syst outputs, constrained project layouts, interconnection study results, permit studies and financial models
- Knowledge of a significant portion of the solar development process and willingness to learn
- Familiarity with landowner negotiations and willingness to engage and expand skill set
- Experience managing project development consultants
- Experience with interconnection from application through LGIA finalization, with public presentations and guiding 3rd party development relations, with reviewing and providing inputs for financial models, are all a plus
