We are looking for a Project Engineer based in our Rogerdale office in Houston, TX. In this role you will be responsible for understanding client technical requirements and implementing Emerson technical quality standards regarding engineering, vendor material & fabrication, assisting with inspection & testing, and project technical quality assurance for engineered solutions in Hydrocarbon (Liquid and Gas) and Analytical Systems (Process Gas and Liquid) application areas.

You will also act as the bridge between our engineering team at our three engineering hubs - India, Singapore, and Romania - and customers/subcontractors addressing project-specific technical issues, identifying and making recommendations for system improvements. Working closely with our external fabricators/integrators, you will use your analytical and solving skills to systematically improve our integration capabilities for complex process gas and liquid analytical systems.

AS A PROJECT ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

  • Work with Solutions Architects to drive best engineering practices and provide technical leadership in developing cost-effective solutions.
  • Review customer requirements regarding engineering, fabrication, inspection, and testing to ensure quality during the lifecycle of engineered solution.
  • Participate in kickoff meetings, engineering, and work process reviews to provide technical advice.
  • Review design documents generated by engineering teams before they are released to customers; perform audits of engineering drawing deliverables against project specifications, and standards.
  • Assist project managers understand technical aspects of their projects and assist them addressing technical issues when our remote engineering teams at our hubs are not available.
  • Work with the quality team in developing non-conformance reports when quality issues are observed,
  • Check and enforce the quality of the operations and maintenance manuals generated for analytical systems prior to shipping to the customers.
  • Participate in testing analytical systems at fabrication shops; assist in addressing punch list items generated during testing.

Flexible Work Schedule - Hybrid Work Option

This role has the flexibility of a hybrid work option up to three days a week. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Instrumentation, Controls or Electrical Engineering is required
  • Eight (8) or more years experience working within Oil and Gas, Chemical or Petrochemical industry
  • Knowledge of National and International Codes / Standards
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of process gas and analytical systems
