Project Engineer

GA-CCRi maintains and deploys production systems for users across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and commercial industry. We build and develop best-in-class all domain and globally focused situational awareness capabilities that process petabytes of data from numerous streaming data sources in near real time. Our systems apply state-of-the-art algorithms and machine learning techniques to extract features and fuse data from multiple phenomenologies to form a rich live view of objects in the sky, on the sea, and on the ground. These analytics are designed to determine not just where something is, but what it is, where it's been and what it's doing. All of this "data to knowledge" is made available to end users in our own browser-based application for visualization, analysis, and understanding. GA-CCRi is currently seeking a Project Engineer to provide a broad range of technical solutions to our DoD customers. The successful candidate will be able to function in a dynamic environment, with government and contractor personnel. Candidate will provide solutions enabling DoD customers to leverage National Capabilities for operational and tactical level activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops innovative but practical solutions to advanced technical problems in engineering.
• Provides focal point for technical communication within the Company management and may represent the Company as the prime technical contact to customers and/or government regulatory agencies.
• Presents report(s) at engineering meetings, participates in program reviews and consults on problems.
• Provides expert guidance and consulting to other staff members working on difficult engineering problems.

• Anticipates future engineering needs and the modifications required to accomplish a technical goal.
• Addresses complex and difficult technical issues requiring novel and highly creative approaches drawing on advanced engineering concepts.
• May assume technical and engineering responsibility of the success of an identifiable project.
• Directs activities of design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.
• Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
• Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree or master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree or two or more years of experience with a master's degree.
• Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
• May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interface with other departments or professionals and represent the organization as a prime technical contact.
• Must be customer focused with the ability to formulate and implement plans to resolve technical engineering problems.
• We require candidates to have an active TS clearance.
• Ability to travel to support program and test events (up to 25%).

Desired Skills & Experience

• TypeScript
• Languages and frameworks: Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with TypeScript preferred. Angular, React, Preact, Web Components, JSX, TSX, virtual DOM, or shadow DOM.
• Styling: CSS-in-JS (CSS Modules, Emotion, etc), CSS preprocessors (Stylus, LESS, SASS, etc), Material UI, responsive layouts (Flexbox, CSS grid, Media and Container queries)

• State Management and Async Programming: Redux, Preact hooks and signals, RxJS, EventEmitter, Promises, Web Sockets, or Web and Service Workers
• GIS and Data Visualization: OpenLayers, Leaflet, OGC standards, WebGL, Cesium, Three.js, Plotly, D3, or Chart.js
• Build Tools and Testing: NPM, Yarn, Lerna, Beachball, Webpack, Storybook, ESLint, Jest, Playwright, Puppeteer, or Selenium
• Detail-oriented. Meticulous attention to detail. Able to think through, focus on, and notice small specifics of your work and the work of others.
• Familiarity with NTM systems, tools, sensor capabilities and current/future architectures is desired.

• Familiarity with DoD operational and tactical level command and control as well as effector platforms (e.g. weapon systems, C2 nodes, ISR, communications) is desired.
