Job Details:

The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead for assigned projects or programs and be responsible for technical execution and performance. Based on customer requirements, the Project Engineer works to establish and maintain the program's technical baseline, to include system requirements, system architecture, and allocated baseline requirements. The successful Project Engineer will collaborate with the PM and other functional disciplines to define or refine a program's schedule, and outline the technical tasks, milestones, and required resources to successfully execute the program.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with PM to create and manage program schedule.
  • Manages technical execution of program
    • Clearly defines and relays the program's goals and objectives to technical staff and management
    • Works with PM to ensure technical work is completed within program schedule
  • Oversees activities to establish and maintain technical baseline
  • Oversees technical reviews for assigned program(s)
  • Responsible for quality of product and verification against approved baseline requirements
  • Support engineering activities for proposal efforts

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline, plus seven years of related experience, or an applicable Master's degree with five years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Project Engineering role supporting a DoD program of record. Experience acting as technical representative at Configuration Control Board.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to use personal computer software such as spreadsheets and word processing programs and requirement management database tool.
  • Ability to perform and direct engineering problem solving, and analytical tasks is required.
  • Must be able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.

Desired Experience:

  • Lifecycle and acquisition knowledge
  • Integration of electronic system/subsystems
  • Experience working with SATCOM or RF equipment
  • Experience creating and maintaining Integrated Master Schedule(s)
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
