PROJECT ENGINEER III
DESCRIPTION:
The Project Engineer will plan, coordinate, and monitor internal projects from initiation through completion. As a multifaceted, organized professional, you will coordinate and direct activities of fixed duration to ensure that the goals or objectives are accomplished within the determined timeframe and budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute strategies to develop assigned projects in the facility Capital Project Plan. This includes submitting a scope of work to an internal customer, submitting the project (including spare parts and T&Cs) for approval, supervising the; receipt of the equipment, the equipment installation, the equipment commissioning and startup training.
- The above-mentioned bullet also includes; review status of projects and budgets, coordinate schedules, and prepare status reports.
- Monitor project progress, assess issues and recommend resolutions to meet productivity, quality and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Coordinate the operational aspects of assigned projects.
- Drive and support integration of, and adherence to, corporate and legal requirements in the design and construction of new facilities, processes, equipment, and utilities.
- Collaborate with regional domain leads for domain specific expertise support in build projects.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Partner with more senior level engineering staff (internal and /or external) and/or senior plant management and research, design, evaluate, install, operate, modify, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet defined mechanical requirements set by company and/or manufacturer.
- Conducts research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, modification, operation and performance of non-electrical equipment, components, systems, materials and applications.
- May oversee mechanical technicians in the installation, operations, maintenance and repair of simple to moderate complex mechanical machinery to ensure that machines, equipment and systems are installed and functioning to company or manufactures specifications.
- Assist in the research to analysis internal design proposals, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost and proper maintenance requirements of machinery, systems and applications.
- Investigates mechanical equipment difficulties or failures to diagnose faulty operations and make recommendations to proper maintenance to maintenance staff for non-complex machinery.
- Partnering with more senior engineering staff (internal and/or external) will specify system components or direct modification of production to ensure compliance with company/manufacturers design and performance standards.
- Will perform other duties as required under the supervision of more experienced engineering staff members or Plant Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Chemical Engineer)
- In lieu of degree, four or more years of leading capital projects and facility Continuous Improvement projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated proficiency CAD experience required.
- Experience in operations with improving environmental, health and safety performance. Knowledge of environmental health and safety standards and codes related to build projects and construction safety.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience managing third party resources to deliver business results.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports to ensure the proper, efficient and safe operation of mechanical equipment at a simple to moderate level of complexity at a plant location.
COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrated communications skills - oral, written and presentation. Critical thinking, strong time management, complex problem and information processing, attention to detail. Strong PC skills, ERP skills (SAP preferred).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Ability to travel 5% of the time.
