Job Description

Resource Innovations is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in the Northeast. As a Project Engineer with Resource Innovations, you will identify and implement energy-saving projects (e.g. upgrades to the facility's lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, lighting, and process equipment systems) for commercial and industrial facilities. by providing end-use customer account management, project identification, evaluation, and management services for utilities. We are looking for a mission driven and career minded individual with previous energy efficiency, HVAC, controls, and/or industrial engineering experience who enjoys working in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with commercial and industrial customers who seek energy improvements.
  • Identify improvements to customers' facilities and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Listen to customers' ideas and guide them toward cost-effective solutions to reducing their energy usage.
  • Develop excel-based energy savings calculations using standard ASHRAE calculations.
  • Clearly document processes and strive toward continuous improvement.
  • Travel to customer locations (up to 25% travel) and meet with customers both individually and as part of a team.
  • Earn and maintain client and customer trust to continually build relationships and implement energy savings recommendations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to team members and proactively solicit feedback from others.
  • Conduct measurement and verification (M&V) activities for installed energy efficiency measures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be located in or willing to re-locate to the states of Massachusetts or Connecticut.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, energy systems, building systems, construction, or related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze mechanical and electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities including; HVAC, lighting, motors, compressed air, refrigeration.
  • 2+ years of work experience identifying, designing, selling, or implementing energy efficiency improvements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to calculate energy savings using excel bin models, return on investment, simple payback, and life cycle costs (LCC) for efficiency projects.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license to visit customer sites
  • Familiarity with relevant energy efficiency codes and standards (e.g. ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, State Building Codes, Code of Federal Regulations etc.)
