Summary
This role has responsibility for coordinating of all technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all departments and contractors. Assesses costs and other vital data pertaining to the project, ensuring the project runs efficiently and on schedule. Reviews engineering drawings and coordinates the review process with key stakeholders. This role will also be involved in the capital planning process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates project scoping, planning, and on-site construction management while conferring with key stakeholders to maintain scope, schedule, and budget.
- Applies project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Leads project development activities including working knowledge of building permit requirements.
- Collaborate with environmental managers to secure necessary permits.
- Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
- Prepare project cost estimates from internal and external (contractor, supplier, vendors, etc.) sources.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Controls project by reviewing designs, specifications, and schedule changes; recommending actions to stay on schedule and budget.
- Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contracts.
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience
- 3 - 5 years demonstrated experience in managing projects and experience with engineering, optimization, and improvement.
- Experience in the Retail Agricultural or Commercial Construction sectors a plus.
- Experience in Heavy Mechanical Engineering highly preferred.
- Experience in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering fields a plus.
- PE or EIT preferred
- Must possess fundamental knowledge of Construction Management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and manage projects.
- Must be able to show initiative and be a 'self-starter' to achieve goals.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Wage range or rate of pay: $100,000 - $115,000/year
