As a Project Engineer at Donaldson Company, you will design and launch of new products, identify new technology in the marketplace, and become a subject matter expert. In this role, you will be responsible for providing filtration expertise to both Ground Defense and Marine programs by supporting new product development. Donaldson possesses great industry breadth and diversity of products, which affords great flexibility in growing your career as you gain engineering experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrating innovation and providing value to customers and industry utilizing a variety of tools and resources available in a technology driven company.
  • Recognizing customer input and translating into new products, applications, and technologies.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert in the Defense market.
  • Utilizing and refining established business practices such as APD to develop new products.
  • Using your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to advance engineering projects.
  • Advancing product strategies by meeting program objectives.
  • Providing design guidance and input on products.
  • Providing technical support to Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Engineering through customer visits and/or consultations.
  • Educating others on filtration tools and principles as a market leader in filtration.
  • Investigate project requirements and develop solutions to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead DFMEA's, participate in PFMEA's, develop DVP&R plans, and coordinate the validation of your designs as needed.
  • Lead projects through a stage-gate product development process in support of meeting product performance, reliability, cost and project schedule goals.
  • Support activities with computer aided engineering (CAE) personnel to solve technical problems.
  • Ensure compliance with government and organization engineering standards.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Up to 3 years related professional engineering experience.
  • Ability to create innovative new products incorporating the voice of the customer.
  • Must have the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage through competing projects and priorities efficiently with strong attention to detail.
  • Good presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Highly organized, detailed oriented, and proactive.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Defense experience is preferred.
  • Filtration knowledge/experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with new product development stage gate process is preferred.
  • Ability to understand basic circuit design and hardware/software knowledge.
