Project Engineer I

SpotHero is a parking reservation service that helps drivers find and reserve parking at  thousands of lots and garages in all major cities. We are on a mission to bring the parking industry into the future through technology. Drivers in the U.S. and Canada use the SpotHero mobile app or website to reserve convenient, affordable parking on-the-go or in advance, and parking companies rely on us to help them reach new customers while optimizing their business. We combine hard-won industry knowledge, a large parking demand and supply dataset, and solid software engineering to serve both sides of the parking market.

The Project Engineer I at SpotHero is responsible for developing solutions that drive efficiency across our Marketplace Teams (Customer Service, Sales, New and Emerging Business Lines, Supply Operations, and B2B Marketing). This role and the new Marketplace Operations team it is on have an opportunity to reimagine operational functions in significantly meaningful ways, allowing for role specialization, the reduction of manual work, and a greater focus on value-producing activities. This will be accomplished by creating automations and internal tools to build better interoperability and eliminate data silos between our internal and customer-facing systems. 

• Create Business Process Automations: Consult with stakeholders to map operational processes and then code these into automated solutions that leverage Salesforce, APIs, and other internal systems for Customer Service, Sales, and Supply Operations teams.
• Design and Develop New Internal Tools Interfaces: Use a variety of low-code solutions to maintain specific internally facing solutions that interact with core internal systems in order to promote functional specialization and drive efficiency for Customer Service, Sales, and Supply Operations teams. 
• Build Data Pipelines for Consumer intelligence: Work with Google Maps, Experian, and other APIs to ingest and transform data for various Marketing, Sales, and Service use cases.
• Ensure System Maintenance and Data Hygiene: Use Internal Tools  connected to our internal-facing APIs to process large batch operations for various functions including SEO/ SEM in connection with managing SpotHero Destinations and Pages using Google Maps and other sources.

• Document & Explain: Write documentation on what the team plans to do, is doing and has completed, explaining both the business use cases and technical specifications textually and visually.

• Collaborate: Work collaboratively with leaders, stakeholders, and the rest of the Marketplace Operations team to deliver quality products with a focus on speed, security, and analytics.

• Programming Experience Required; JavaScript;
• Programming Experience Preferred: SQL
• Beneficial Experience: Salesforce.com; Low Code Automation Solutions
• Competent understanding of JavaScript (front-end and Node), 
• A working understanding of REST APIs and JWT

• Local to Chicago.

• Strong understanding of JavaScript syntax and a working understanding of object-oriented programming
• Knowledge of AdTech, including AdWords or Apple Search Ads, display advertising, affiliate marketing, or email marketing systems is a plus.
