What you will be doing:
This role is central to Helen of Troy's R&D initiatives for liquid beauty products. With a solid foundation in material science and a grasp of modern beauty packaging trends, this role emphasizes collaboration. The engineer will work hand-in-hand with the product development team, formulator, manufacturers, and suppliers to validate packaging components. Their overarching goal is to champion packaging innovation, setting industry standards and driving the development of outstanding packaging solutions.
- Drive R&D initiatives in packaging, emphasizing aerosols, pumps, sprays, and other cosmetic components.
- Stay updated with global innovations in packaging technologies, materials, and components.
- Collaborate with the Liquids regulatory team, ESG, and Legal to ensure alignment to industry regulations.
- Actively liaise with teams like R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering.
- Lead the research and introduction of innovative packaging materials that align with Helen of Troy's brand values.
- Design and improve processes and workflows for the packaging development lifecycle.
- Build and upkeep comprehensive databases for packaging materials, testing outcomes, and industry advancements.
- Systematize evaluations and stability testing for packaging prototypes in line with industry standards.
- Efficiently manage numerous projects, showcasing adaptability and organizational skills.
- Tackle technical challenges in the packaging development process through both analytical and collective methods.
- Demonstrate expertise in crafting and evaluating prototypes and samples, ensuring they meet specified product quality and design.
- Enable knowledge transfers within the team, ensuring a consistent and streamlined approach to tasks and decision-making.

- Strong project management capabilities.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve challenges in packaging development.
- Outstanding communication skills and synergetic mentality.
- Knowledge and expertise in prototyping and testing processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years working with beauty or cosmetics products, particularly with liquid packaging.
- Deep understanding of packaging materials and components for liquid beauty products.
- Familiarity with global packaging regulations and beauty industry standards.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
- Experience in developing, prototyping, and testing packaging samples.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
