Torch Technologies is currently seeking multiple Project Engineers focused on Software Engineering to support the Next Generation Combat Vehicle (NGCV) at the Detroit Arsenal, located in Warren, MI. Selected candidates will play a pivoted role in supporting new and existing software projects within current and new vehicle platforms. Project scope will vary in shape and size with an emphasis on "cradle to grave" project structure. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated practical experience with software development, integration, and implementation along with strong project management skills and knowledge of phase gate process.

Job Requirements

Qualified Candidates will have direct experience with the following:

  • Experience working with both hardware and software systems
  • Demonstrated Object-Oriented Design and Programming (C/C++, C#, Java, etc.)
  • Modern Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Microsoft Visual Studio or Qt and Qt Creator
  • Linux and/or Windows operating systems
  • Research and Development program management | Cradle to Grave application
  • Demonstrated experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated Phase Gate Process structure
  • Experience within a multiple discipline engineering team
Qualified candidates will have an interest or experience in one of the following areas:

  • System of Systems Experience
  • Broad Experience with Electronics and Digital Communication Buses (e.g. RS422, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Vehicle Simulation Programming Experience (CANoe, CAPL)
  • Understanding of OEM documentation |Technical Data Interpolation
  • Test Procedure Implementation
  • Cost | Budget analysis
  • Management of multiple contractors | vendors
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. or greater in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference.
  • Experience developing applications with object-oriented languages
  • 10+ years of direct Object-Oriented and/or vehicle simulation programming experience
  • 8 years of project engineering experience with a minimum of 12 years engineering or related experience.
Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a U.S Citizen
  • Duty Station - Detroit Arsenal
  • This position requires the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final secret security clearance to access classified information. Inability to obtain a secret clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
