Role Summary
Magna is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineering Lead to join the New Mobility group in Boston, Massachusetts. The lead will drive forward technical Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) activities, and collaborate both internally and externally with cross-functional teams, customers, and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with minimal supervision to meet defined program objectives and milestones in an environment where they will be given the freedom to innovate, explore new methods and solutions. Magna New Mobility offers an agile engineering and development community; one in which a candidate will be expected to bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities
- The project lead is responsible to ensure engineering deliverables are executed within scope, on time, and on-budget and that the deliverables meet the expected quality level.
- Participates in cross-functional teams to scope activities; coordinates project activities to drive projects from initiation to completion.
- Performs engineering risk analysis, identifies alternate mitigation measures, and supports team through issue resolution.
- Obtain all required information, data, and authorizations for successful project execution.
- Schedule meetings, set agendas, run meetings, take minutes, provide templates for content with gate deliverables, developing and consolidating presentation slides, and asking the "right questions"
- Develop a working environment aimed at partnering with the other interface disciplines.
- Support the team with connecting to appropriate interfaces for the help required.
- Provide support through the change request, change agreement, and change release process.
- Perform other duties, support special projects and tasks as assigned.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Masters preferred.
- 7+ years experience in automotive, robotics, or aerospace industry.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects; requires good time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines with high quality.
- Strong interpersonal skills: proven ability to quickly build trust and rapport with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Capable of effectively partnering with cross-functional teams to coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
- Ability to estimate engineering and part costs
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of ADAS/AD features, including sensors (cameras, LIDAR, RADAR), sensor fusion, path planning.
- Highly proficient with MS Office based productivity tools incl. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.
Additional Information
- Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
- Hybrid in-office policy: 3 days in office per week.
- Domestic and international travel ~10%
