This position will involve supporting the Engines and PowerSystems (EPS) organization within the APU Project Engineering department. Thisposition supports the Military APU product line. The position also includesworking on various in-service legacy APU models along with opportunities tosupport development and qualification of new applications.
Key Responsibilities:• Supporting the MRO & technical publications functions across allMilitary APU platforms.• Coordination with external customers, repair facilities, aircraftoperators and Honeywell C&PS (Customer & Product Support) and ProgramManagement.• Involvementin the Customer Satisfaction Board (CSB) process for Military APU models(whereby the Honeywell team examines production issues, service revealeddifficulties (SRD), and other potential APU changes for root cause, developscorrective actions, and agrees how to implement those actions).• Planningall aspects of assigned engineering work scope.• Executingprojects within budget (including capital) and on schedule.• Meetingthe technical performance measures and project-specific process requirements.• Achievingdesign-to-cost targets and design for manufacturability, test, and reliabilitygoals.• Compliance on policies, procedures, and guidelines.• Managingrequirements, controlling scope, and executing baseline change management.• Communicating project health and status to stakeholders (CBT, M&PM,Engineering leadership).• ManagingOEM customer relationship; communication, collaboration and status reporting.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
MUST HAVE:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related engineering discipline.• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical engineering experience
WE VALUE:
• Previous experience with design, development, production, repair/overhaul and/or certification of gas turbine engines is preferred.• Strong customer focus with proven ability to establish successful relationships with internal and/or external customers• Demonstrated track record for managing requirements and meeting commitments and schedules• Excellent communication skills to positively influence customers, teams and suppliers• Self-motivated, willing to take ownership and lead detailed project plans and budgets• Ability to creatively resolve issues by evaluation of technical data and risk assessments• Able to effectively manage priorities and multiple projects in a fast- paced environment with competing demands• Good planning skills required using program management techniques to execute schedules and tasks• Diverse technical background of aircraft system integration is an asset• Familiarity with technical publications for gas turbine engines is favorable• Operational knowledge and/or experience with legacy military APU application is desirable• Demonstrated use of Six Sigma tools to aid in problem resolution and process improvement
