Project Geologist

RESPEC seeks a project geologist in our Reno, Nevada, office. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for independently evaluating project data and estimating resources, many of which will be publicly reported. These resource-related projects involve three-dimensional (3D) modeling of geology, density, oxidation, metallurgical, and geotechnical characteristics, as well as commodities of interest. Experience in data compilation and evaluation and 3D modeling is beneficial.

Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• At a minimum, a bachelor of science degree in geology, geological engineering, or related field; a Master of Science degree is preferred
• 5-plus years of experience as a resource, exploration, mine development, and/or production geologist
• Experience with large-scale drilling campaigns, mapping projects, sampling, and geologic and metal modeling
• Familiarity with project databases, QA/QC programs, and drill-sample collection and processing procedures
• Strong technical writing skills and oral communication skills
• Experience with a variety of commodities and deposit types
• Ability and willingness to eventually attain qualified person (QP) status under Canadian National Instrument (NI) 43-101 guidelines
• In addition to proficiency English, basic skills in a second language is beneficial
• Previous experience with 3D modeling components of mining software
• Competency with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise.
