Your Team

The Sustaining Engineering Team, within Front Line Care (FLC) Engineering, is responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating engineering product design development/modifications of current model products and product lines. As a Sustaining Project Leader, you will lead cross-functional project teams to complete sustaining projects from planning through implementation. This position is for a person invested in building their career as a project leader who is goal driven and enjoys working in a dedicated cross-functional team environment.

What you'll be doing

Your primary responsibilities will be to effectively organize and lead cross-functional project teams using your project management skills. Using your strong planning, organization, communication, and collaboration skills, you will lead a diverse scope of projects with limited supervision. The Sustaining projects may include, projects aimed at enhancing product features of current products to ensure customer satisfaction, expanding current products into new markets/countries, addressing quality issues, meeting new regulatory standards, or reducing costs.

You will lead one large or multiple small to medium projects that impact company performance. You will direct the activities of internal and external team members to meet project objectives. You will also implement design changes into production for current products and provide consultation support of other engineering projects.

The appropriate candidate must be a flexible, self-directed, organized, dependable, proactive, and persistent Project Leader. You must effectively plan and execute projects, coach project team members, solve problems, and make decisions with limited direction. As a Project Leader the successful candidate will communicate both up and down the organization to effectively complete and provide status of the projects.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of applied project management experience managing projects of various sizes
  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders in Marketing, R&D, QA, Regulatory, Sourcing, and Operations.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, and presentation) skills
  • Proven attention to detail

Desired Background:

  • Technical/Engineering or Business Degree
  • Applied experience with Microsoft Project as well as other Office Suite applications
  • Prior SAP experience (including creation of DIRs, BOMs, Routers, writing Engineering Changes)
  • Well-versed in Medical Device Design Controls
  • Project Management Professional (PMP certification)

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $60,000 to $132,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
