The Create the New team is a small, high-profile team reporting to the General Manager for the US Veterinarian Business. This team works hand in hand with stakeholders across the Mars Ecosystem to drive internal startup, development, and incubation of new business capabilities. Within the business, Create the New is responsible for providing strategic thought leadership by working collaboratively with colleagues across all areas of the business to develop new capabilities to meet future needs. Create the New functions as a catalyst to reduce the energy needed to bring new business models and opportunities to life within the business. Living off the land, Create the New finds the resources necessary to move ideas forward by securing internal venture capital where necessary and pulling together resources from other departments when needed.
In this acceleration context, we need to adapt our project deployment ways of working to find the synergies between projects, to support them, control them and ensure the pace and quality of delivery. The PMO will navigate in our current processes when needed, while embarking x-functional teams in the adventure of digital project management. In addition, building new processes and ways of working when appropriate to accelerate our growth and push to execution faster with a 'fail fast' mentality though an agile mindset.
What are we looking for?
- Master's Degree in Business or Technical Field (engineering, marketing, or supply chain management)
- 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing business
- 5 years of project management or business experience with significant exposure to project lead, especially in the digital world
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build consensus among multiple groups with diverse (often competing) priorities, functions, and cultures
- Understanding of the global, regional, and local decision-making process, as well as their different roles and responsibilities, must be able to navigate this complex environment
- Experience in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across business functions and units
- Understanding of data, its privacy, storage, and movement in addition to enrichment and activation
- Ability to work with remote associates
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Ability to participate in S&OP+ process, collaborate with other team leaders, resolve issues, and drive the success of business initiatives through standard processes as appropriate
What will be your key responsibilities?
Project planning, milestones, setting scope, and prioritization for North America:
- Owns the close link with Royal Canin global project teams (core solution and deploy teams) the deployment process to launch projects in North America as assigned
- Owns the close link with Ecosystem partners for project execution
- Ensure alignment and connectivity of stakeholders throughout Global, Regional (North America), Ecosystem, & local teams as well as other new business projects in the Create the New roadmap
Ensure alignment among x-functional teams (Global, Regional, Ecosystem, and local project members):
- Implements timeline by mobilizing cross functional teams to define scope, build timelines, and execute projects in North America, with emphasis on USA and CA
- Tracks and communicate key decisions points, issues, risk management and actions
Recommends project re-prioritization and adaptation, project discovery, and process improvement
- Ensure Create the New stays at the cutting edge of opportunity identification - feed the pipeline
- Ensure that the required business change is implemented effectively with minimal business disruption
