HII Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Project Management Analyst 2 for our HII Nuclear, Maritime Operations Team at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA.

Project Management Analysts in the Nuclear Maritime Operations group support a wide variety of different functional areas at Newport News Shipyard (NNS). At NNS, HII builds the most advanced ships in the world, nuclear powered Aircraft Carriers and Submarines, and our engineers are integral in that effort.

What You Will Do

• Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
• Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
• Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
• Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization.
• Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks.
• Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
• Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.

What You Must Have

• Candidate must have 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
• Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Candidate must have strong organizational skills.
• Candidate must be proficient in the use of desktop or personal computers with associated software (i.e., word processing, graphics, database, spreadsheets, etc.) or other computer products as required by the applicable discipline.
• Candidate must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
