WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Project Management Director that will oversee a team and guide the flow of work across multiple fields and departments in Global Brand Marketing.
This is a highly visible role that will need to effectively communicate across all layers of the organization simultaneously! The Project Management Director will work with the core functional Marketing teams, peers, and executives to ensure that all relevant project facts are being communicated effectively and consistently. The Director will be the traffic manager of all key decisions (positive and negative) that affect the outcome of the projects in flight and inform work that is coming. You balance the tactical needs of experience delivery with the soft skills required to orchestrate, coach and inspire their team. You are the conduit to our Studio Management, Production, CDM, and Brand Management partners, establishing and upholding these relationships.
The ideal candidate will have the skill to both make the right decisions and communicate them convincingly, acting as the project team captain that other team members consistently seek out for answers that are fast, authoritative, and right. The skills and duties vital for success in this role will be:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Studio Directors to ensure a consistent Brand Creative delivery process
- Partner with the Global Studio Management and Production teams in creating a new and efficient and scalable Operating Model
- Strategically plan work upstream for future projects and initiatives as well being able to shift to downstream work to support changing business needs
- Provide leadership with critical path plans of large-scale, full funnel marketing campaign executions
- Support Brand executives in bringing their strategic Marketing vision to life and championing it through project delivery & production services
- Responsible for ensuring that initiatives are delivered on time and on budget, across both internal and external teams
- Advise and develop a team of impactful Project Managers across your team
- Lead a high functioning and autonomous project management team
- Consult on systems & tools strategy to support efficient & effective Global Brand delivery
- Maintain a constant view of all work in flight across Global Brand Marketing while providing transparency to executive leadership
- Lead ongoing budget process, in partnership with Marketing Finance
As Project Management Director you will manage a team of Project Managers translating the Marketing requirements and strategies into reality. You'll be working with all of the teams across Global Brand Marketing, as well as its Geo counterparts, its cross-functional business partners, and external vendors. The role is focused on keeping the marketing house "in order" and driving prioritized initiatives forward, successfully. We ensure that everyone within marketing is aware of expected outcomes and what is and is not required of them so that we deliver on time and within our boundaries.
You will ensure workstreams are adequately supported, and that individuals are getting rest and recovery. You will oversee the prioritization and resourcing of projects in partnership with Geo Project Management. You play a leading role in the consumer code process from Seasonal Kick-off to final execution. You will share a topline knowledge of status and health of all projects including scope, schedule, and budget. You are a seasoned problem-solver and will partner with Brand Planning, Studio Management, Production, and CDM to mitigate and manage project risks when needed. You will work in close partnership with Brand Planning Directors, Project Management for Campaigns & 365, Direct, Integrated Media, Nike Stores and Marketplace Partners to build-out, track, and socialize review and delivery cadence of projects. You will partner with Project Management leadership peers to define the way project management should operate at Nike and are a go-to resource for Global, Geography and City partners as you define standard methodologies and continuous process improvements. You inspire teammates through your experience and example.
A typical day/week is never the same. You will lead a team across multiple projects and all activities around the project(s) that ensure on time, on expectation, and on budget projects. No project is created equal, but you will use your years of experience to drive your work and the success of the project on a day-to-day basis.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report directly to the leader of your function & Project Management, being the key operational partner to these leaders. You will manage a team of Project Managers driving the work. You will work closely with the Studio Directors, Consumer Direct Marketing, Production teams to ensure work is appropriately handled between your teams. Your primary connectivity tissue partners include Brand Planning, Studio Management, Production, and CDM and you will have close partnership with business functions as you establish and lead the project management process.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years experience in a project management role
- Experience managing large budgets ($10M+) and delivering large global initiatives with full funnel marketing
- Demonstrated experience working with Global Brand production partners and agencies
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Driven and passionate about the Nike Brand
