Position Summary:
The Project Manager leads teams to deliver project(s) spanning one or more business units. Independently manages resources, schedules, and financials, and adheres to Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) guidance throughout the full project life cycle.
Essential Functions
- Manages multiple projects or program(s) simultaneously as assigned by Project Management Officer (PMO).
- Supports a variety of different projects within various departments to include, but not limited to, implementations for revenue products, software or hardware services, internal application, or infrastructure builds, and developing and implementing the people and process components associated with the new technology.
- Uses applicable authority to run projects on a day-to-day basis and to verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.
- Manages issues, risks, project schedule creation, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery, as well as contributing to process improvement initiatives as it relates to successful project delivery.
- Ensures constant monitoring of schedule and budget adherence.
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all required and needed project documentation, ensuring compliance with Project Management Office (EPMO) standards.
- Identifies and mitigates project risks.
- Escalates and resolves issues and obstacles.
- Ensures all required documentation is created and maintained.
- Prepares and updates estimates and track budget-related documents.
- Develops project planning documentation for all types of projects (waterfall, iterative, agile, scrum), phases, and deliverables.
- Reports on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities.
- Prepares estimates and detailed project schedule with assistance from project assigned subject matter experts (SMEs) for all phases of the project.
- Analyzes and develops change requests, as needed.
- Procures adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes and escalate resource constraints, as needed.
- Manages the day-to-day project activities and resources.
- Ensures interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs are clearly documented within the project schedule and all needed documentation.
- Manages scope and process all project changes through the project change control process.
- Provides leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Accountable for the understanding of and adherence to operational controls, policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with bank policies and related laws and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge and ability to design project plans including defining the critical path.
- Knowledge of the impact of a project directly to and across various functions.
- Knowledge of the impact of a project to the overall business.
- Expert level knowledge of MS Office with the ability to learn other job specific software applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.
- Skill in adopting technological advancements and facilitating into current and future responsibilities
- Skill in systems thinking - understanding of the link between one's own job responsibilities and overall organizational goals and needs and performs one's job with the broader goals in mind.
- Skill in analytical thinking, creative thinking and avid problem solving.
- Skill in influencing and negotiating with project stakeholders and decision makers.
- Skill in managing relationships and deliverables from associated vendors.
- Ability to prepare clear and transparent reporting of program/project status for senior leadership.
- Ability to manage dependencies within and across programs associated with program.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to identify, manage and monitor remediation of any potential risks and impediments that affect program scope, schedule, and quality. In addition, enable appropriate escalation of any item that may impact timely delivery or cause a change to agreed scope of program/project.
- Ability to build, nurture, and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate current technology innovations into ongoing practices.
- Ability to demonstrate support for innovation and for organizational changes needed to improve the organization's effectiveness; initiating, sponsoring, and implementing organizational change; helping others to successfully manage organizational change
- Ability to proactively complete tasks, recognize and solve problems, improve processes, enhance products, and/or extend services within assigned range of authority
- Ability to bring together every component of a project, including resources or planning, that are needed to complete it in a timely manner.
- Ability to anticipate, monitor, and meet the needs of customers (internal and external) and respond in an appropriate manner.
- Ability to work,and havewith customers (internal and external).
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in project management or other related field; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience working in project management supporting a complex corporate environment.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred - or ability and commitment to obtain Project Management certification within 90 days of employment in position.
