Project Manager

F&G is hiring for a Senior Project Manager to support our Annuity & Life Retail Product.

Summary Statement

This position manages the ideation through design/impact assessment phases of the product development processes.  Drives analysis and design of new product concepts and execution of the product roadmap in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders across the company. This role is based at our headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa. We may be open to exploring remote working options for this role as well.

Organization

The Sr, Project Manager position will be part of the Retail Product organization reporting to the VP of Product Portfolio Manager and has no subordinates. 

Project Management Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages projects from ideation through design/product assessment phases of the product development process
• Responsible for development and maintenance of ideation through design/product assessment process, procedures and work flows.
• Responsible for development of and adherence to product development methodology, including regular meetings, status reporting and preparation of project plans.
• Responsible for development of and adherence to product development standards and timelines.
• Promotes leadership through collaboration, cooperation and communication across functional areas to ensure goals are achieved.
• Develop business case which includes defining project scope, resources requirements, budget, timeline, deliverables and milestones; evaluates courses of action on an ongoing basis and helps to determine the best alternative to attain project goals.
• Analyze business problems and makes recommendations for creative solutions
• Direct and coordinate internal and external project resources from all business units to help them meet deadlines and deliverables.  Accountable for timeliness and quality of ideation through design/impact assessment   analysis
• Partners with project stakeholders to define requirements, establish status reports, develop communication plans and create management presentations.
• Actively involved in development and design of new product and enhancements.  Works directly with the product team, including key agencies to help design, market test, and complete analysis on the design and obtain sign-off on the new product/enhancement.
• Manage an efficient hand-off process between the product assessment phases of the process and implementation.

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree
• Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a team member working on projects for life insurance, annuity or registered products or 3 year’s experience as a Project Manager in  the Insurance/ Financial institutions industry
• Demonstrate knowledge of project and business management principles, methods and techniques and identifying critical paths
• Demonstrate experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints
• Proven experience with process re-engineering or business transformation
• Strong business analysis and presentation skills
• Demonstrates knowledge of application development, vendor management or infrastructure
• High level of expertise with Microsoft Office (including MS Project)
• Experience in tracking plan dates and actuals on multiple efforts.  Experience with work tracking software (ex: Work Otter, Salesforce) preferred
• Excellent communication, facilitation and organizational skills
• Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and to influence key project decisions to achieve desired outcomes
• The candidate should be able to work independently and be able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments

Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization in both technical and business
