Kemper is seeking an experienced Project Manager for Kemper Enterprise initiatives. The Project Manager will support the organization in leading infrastructure, security and/or data projects partnering with our Chief Technology Office and Corporate Information Security Office. This role will manage multiple moderate to large scale technical projects following the full SDLC and Corporate PMO processes.
This position is a key contributor to our high caliber, highly visible and fast-paced technical initiatives, supporting and interacting with cross functional stakeholders and teams in a heavily matrixed environment. In this role, you will take ownership of projects from initiation to delivery: scope, cost, schedule, resource planning, risks, issues, decisions, interdependencies, and milestones. This role must be able to successfully navigate matrix environments, partner with the executive/senior leadership and enterprise shared services and communicate across functions at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate decisions by project teams ensuring adhering to project/program and functional governance.
- Engages and works alongside cross-functional stakeholders to execute and deliver technical initiatives on time and within budget.
- Align project documents with corporate and business governance
- Manage budget, scope, resources, schedules and organizational change management for projects plus benefits realization phases.
- Follow Organizational Change Management framework to ensure teams, organization are able to successfully support the change(s) being introduced.
- Provide timely and accurate communication with project staff throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Ensure methodology compliance; document problem areas and coordinate resolutions; reporting to management as necessary.
- Utilize structured methodology and project planning tools.
- Facilitate issue resolution; revision requests and control use of contingency.
- Manage information in a visually appealing and easy to understand method (synthetize information).
- Drive results across a diverse team of dynamic communicators and professionals.
Qualifications
- Strong execution leader with technology background, excellent communication skills and business acumen
- Experience in authoring fundamental Project artifacts (Charter, RAID, Risk Register, Benefits Register, etc.)
- 5-10 years project management experience in a large corporate environment
- Strong analytical skills, and ability to drive data-based decision making
- Experience with process design, workflow analysis, re-engineering or other change management techniques whose purpose is to make and implement recommendations to improve effectiveness.
- 2 or more years organizational change management experience
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, Confluence and Jira
- Strong, professional, communication and collaboration skills at an executive level
- Must be able to handle occasional travel as needed when the offices open back up.
