Project Manager 

EKN Engineering is a fast-growing civil engineering and technology consulting company located in Irvine, CA. We are looking for a Project Manager to join us on our quest to further invent and innovate. The Project Manager must be capable of leading multiple projects including creating project plans, gathering data, assessing information, performing analysis, and developing recommendations. They must have extensive knowledge and experience of electrical utility systems, permitting, and/or software development.  

Responsibilities 

• Ensure success in initiation, planning, execution, and close of all projects against agreed targets. 
• Prepare an agenda, develop, and maintain master project budgets and timelines as required for each project and project phase to ensure overall project objectives and client needs are met. 
• Proactively manages project-related issues on an account or assigned project as necessary for each project. 
• Identifies and recommends resources needed to meet project objectives. 
• Provide expert recommendation in the preparation of project development and RFPs; provide technical evaluation of proposals and ensure proposals are in-line with client expectations. 
• Review proposed project budgets (labor, materials, and subcontractors) to determine allocation of resources from start to finish. 
• Manage project team(s) day-to-day responsibilities and allocate resources to hit daily goals. 
• Recommend guidelines and process improvements for internal teams. 
• Coordinate with clients and determine potential improvements resulting from client’s feedback. 
• Contribute to a team environment that encourages collaboration, ongoing feedback, and participation 
• Willing to take initiative and accountability for results, and the ability to work numerous projects in an environment with minimal supervision. 

Qualifications 

• PMP Certification required 
• Prior project/program management experience required 
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to maximize output on projects 
• Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure successful projects. 
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiating skills. 
• Effective resource and project planning, decision-making, results delivery, team building, and ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation. 
• Strong ethics, influence, leadership, and interpersonal skills 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering, project management, or a related technical discipline 
• Prior experience in utilities is preferred
