Job Summary
The Project Manager will lead both business and IT projects which are medium to large in scope and impact. This position interfaces with business executives, project sponsors, stakeholders, and users, both technical and non-technical staff, as appropriate for the project.
This position reports to the Director, Project Management and Program Delivery. The position interacts with all levels within the F&G organization and includes interaction with Enterprise Services, Finance, Investments, Retail, IT, Security and Risk Management, and Strategy and Architecture to accomplish the needs of a project.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute overall project management duties using industry standard project management principles and practices to support all project sponsors, users, stakeholders and the project team
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation for projects
- Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Report and escalate issues or concerns of the project to management as needed
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Delegate project tasks based on staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
- Facilitate team and client meetings effectively
- Follow F&G Project Governance Structure
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years project management experience
- Experience working in a Program Management Office (PMO) environment
- Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Iterative methodologies
- Extensive knowledge of Project Management principles, practices and processes
- Strong System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
- Must be able to work independently and be able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments
