Project Manager

Senior Project Managers at Excella possess a variety of project management skills and manage projects of different sizes and objectives. Our PMs take an Agile approach where possible, focusing on high-value activities, interacting frequently with customers and stakeholders, and being flexible and adaptive; they work collaboratively, are highly accountable for their team’s work, and take responsibility for their client’s success.  Excella PMs coordinate delivery of work products, coordinate project planning activities, and track progress and risk. They perform the analysis, review, development, test and inspection of business process improvement, program management, solution implementation and strategic re-engineering efforts. They apply broad management skills and business expertise to lead complex, large projects in delivering client solutions or to manage the operations of multiple Excella projects. They work with client executives to facilitate organizational change and lead clients through business transformation efforts.

Our IT Project Managers are required to perform the following activities (among others):

• Provide project management support activities, including project planning, project scheduling, and status reporting
• Coordinate development of new systems and applications
• Provide programmatic recommendations to clients and stakeholders
• Liaise between various stakeholder groups; facilitate deconflicting of competing priorities
• Prepare and present briefing materials and reports
• Provide IT Subject Matter Expertise
• Provides administrative, career management, and senior support to all team members
• Build and maintain productive relationships with teaming partners and internal corporate teams
• Help develop staffing plans and supervisory structures
• Establishes a team culture that promotes delivery success and provides a high-quality client experience for a strategic team engagement.
• Establishes team and client expectations for delivery quality and utilizes strategies for scope management.
• Leverage in-depth understanding of the contract (i.e., scope, deliverables, timelines, T&Cs) so as to engage the client and contracts POCs in discussions that aim to ensure alignment between delivery expectations and contract requirements.
• Provides solutioning for emerging needs or newly identified client challenges.

• 4+ years of experience Managing Federal Government IT projects, with at least one of more than 30 FTE
• Experience with one or more of the following areas: budget and financial management, capital planning and investment control, configuration management, earned value management, enterprise architecture, performance measures and metrics, project management, and risk management.
• Experience with one or more IT project management methodologies, must include Agile (e.g., Agile methodologies)
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
• Strong analytical aptitude and ability to structure and quantify complex or undefined business problems
• Ability to interact confidently with senior-level clients
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Current PMP credential
• Agile Certification is a plus
