Project Manager

Big Ass Fans is seeking a Project Manager to join the Big Ass Fans team. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating administrative and analytic activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) following an iterative, fast-paced design process in support of the department heads. This individual will apply project management experience, technical engineering education, and new product development principles to assist in leading cross-functional teams in taking products from design conception to production.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing cross-departmental groups for design, development, and launch of assigned new products. This includes gathering product specifications and requirements from Product Management and Engineering, ensuring projects are meeting business needs.
• Generate project schedules with input from cross-functional teams. Manage web-based repository for schedule portfolio, keeping updated for accuracy and vision.
• Assist the product and project departments in their focus on critical path schedule management and quick-to-market programs, including long lead time parts, validation testing, compliance certifications, and build planning.
• Manage NPI program templates for which project management is responsible, ensuring documents are serving the agile nature in which we develop products at BAF. Garner feedback when required on NPI processes and documentation, escalate and execute desired changes as necessary.
• Manage pre-production build events related to assigned programs. This includes coordination with Engineering, R&D, Sourcing, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Operations and will sometimes require pre-production part management and tracking.
• Coordinate reporting and presentation for program progress review with the executive team and program stakeholders, ensuring programs are represented accurately.
• Lead cross-functional team meetings, capturing progress, risks, action items, issues, and decisions.

Requirements

• BS degree in engineering field preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in project management (Engineering projects preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• PMP or CSM certification is a plus
• Strong problem solver
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Self-starter with demonstrated leadership skills
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and/or Google Suite, some familiarity with project management scheduling software preferred (MS Project, Asana, Trello, Wrike etc.)
• Ability to travel (10% of the time)
