Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the "Best Places to Work" in the North Bay Business Journal, is seeking a Project Manager to join our Growth & Strategy Division at our corporate office in Novato.

The Project Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the Bank's special projects and tasks under the direction of Senior Project Manager and assisting in leading projects and initiatives using Bank of Marin project rigor. This includes all aspects of the project life cycle: ensure the creation of business requirements, manage the solution identification process, track the execution of the project "development," risk and issue tracking and reporting, test planning and test execution, implementation planning, change management, and post-implementation evaluation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for leading all aspects of project management from project initiation through project completion, production integration and service activation.
  • Work independently with business and technology subject matter experts (including external vendors) to define scope, create accurate and inclusive estimates, develop budgets and project plans, exit criteria and testing plans and other planning documentation as needed.
  • Direct project activities, conduct reviews, manage risk mitigation issues and change control processes, and communicate status to various levels of management within the IT and business partner organizations.
  • Establish checkpoints to ensure that projects are executed per agreed upon plan and scope.
  • Manage and track project budgets, forecasts, and schedule to achieve target scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Conduct post-implementation project evaluations.
  • Manage all internal communication for assigned projects from initiation through post-implementation monitoring and de-brief.
  • Demonstrate skills in conflict management and negotiation to achieve project goals and develop trust with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with operational resources to create and publish scheduled periodic updates to all Bank staff of Operational changes, news and information.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Skill Level / Additional Requirements:

  • CAPM or PMP Certification desired
  • Thorough understanding of project management methodology (waterfall, agile, etc.).
  • Ability to manage external vendors and work effectively with multiple business partners is critical.
  • Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies and best practices.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently while coordinating activities with cross-divisional teams.
  • Ability to achieve project goals by collaborating with stakeholders at all management levels. Provide project teams with expertise, direction, motivation, and encouragement.
  • Demonstrate skills in conflict management and negotiation to achieve project goals and develop trust with stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization and to manage through influence.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically.
  • Knowledge of FIS Core Systems, Q2 Digital Banking,Teller Insight and Deposit Origination strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory guidelines governing all branch and department operational activities strongly desired.
  • Ability to expertly construct and edit letters, emails, and other critical internal correspondence.
  • Thorough knowledge and ability to work with all facets of Microsoft Office and other operating systems, with specific abilities to perform mail merge, data import, exports, forms, etc. Smartsheet knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and physical capability for travel to branches.

Professional & Educational Experience:

  • 5 years project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.

The hiring pay range for this position is $98,561 to $145,243. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
