Project Manager

Introduction
At IBM India Systems Development Lab our project managers excel by leading and coordinating a project team’s overall schedule delivery execution risk management and overall tracking. Our stakeholders rely on timely and efficient status reporting and milestone tracking. As a project manager you will drive the project schedule and plan metric definitions and performance tracking. In addition you will be expected to be people manager for a squad of 6-8 developers.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for leading/Managing a team of highly talented individuals for developing IBM PowerVC product ( IaaS Offering for IBM Power Systems)
• Lead 15+ technical resources covering various aspects of product development.
• Collaborate closely with other peer teams globally
• Functional Management ownership of PowerVC application components design development integration and delivery.
• Focus on technical supervision project management organizational development
• Ensure talent/skills development and performance management.
• Manage coordinate and develop activities related to Project *Management such as planning kick off management tracking and closure of projects.
• Manage customer-facing project milestones deliverables and communication
• Provides cross-functional coordination and team communications
• Provide management level visibility and reporting on project status and risk
• Serve as point of contact for project associated status and information
• Utilize Operation information systems and update them regularly.
• Effectively use project management tools (spreadsheets dashboards etc)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Excellent people management & project management skills and ability to provide technical guidance to a team of experienced professionals
• 10+ years of relevant experience of Agile development.
• Experience of 3+ years in leading/managing a team of full stack developers.
• Strong fundamentals in cloud backed IaaS application development using Python & OpenStack
• Able to handle multiple scrum teams and scrum of scrums.
• Excellent people management and leadership skills
• Good communication articulation & presentation skills
• Experience on handling Client interactions & interfacing”

• 5+ years of leading and mentoring teams
• System management virtualization & Cloud experience.
• OpenStack experience
