Job Summary:

The Sr. Project Manager (acting team Scrum Master) engages and coaches the Professional Services project team (and organization) to deliver ACI complex professional services projects using best project management and Agile/Scrum practices. Experienced in Hybrid Agile approaches and able to integrate both predictive and Agile components of projects. Responsible for delivery of software to ACI's directly to ACI customers, ACI's private cloud preproduction and production environments.

Manages and drives the execution of multiple large, highly complex project(s) in accordance with ACI Project Management methodology. Coordinate departmental or cross-functional teams. Directs the project from initiation through implementation and delivery. Plans and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Guide projects through to completion on time, within scope, and budget, meeting and/or exceeding quality standards.

Uses agile approaches to drives the execution of professional services sprints by removing impediments, facilitating agile meetings, backlog reviews, sprint planning, sprint reviews, reporting (burndown charts, task progress) and day-to-day decision making. Drives retrospective meetings to help the team become more productive over time. Facilitates an environment for the Scrum team to organize themselves around their work, helping them become self-aware to what is blocking results, and to influence them to become self-correcting, self-organizing and continuously improving the way they work. Utilizes strong listening and observation skills to engage the Scrum team when necessary to build connections. Guides the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to get the most out of self-organization to fill intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks. Facilitates discussion, decision making and conflict resolution while getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. Assesses the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaches the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs client communication, manages expectations, and escalations related to project deliverables and release promotions.
  • Manages project scope and baseline to ensure delivery is compliant.
  • Develops project plan, schedule, agreement and proposal to ensure timely completion of projects, within budget.
  • Manages aspects of the project including but not limited to research, analysis, documentation, design/development, testing, problem resolution, negotiations, training, status reporting, implementation, project closing and post-rollout review/audit. Including all project deliverables.
  • Plans and orchestrates software deployments to ACI's pre-production and production private cloud. Establishes relationships and coordinates activities across internal groups to accomplish software promotions. Ensures that all ACI governance is followed for these activities.
  • Manages and secures business control requirements and compliance.
  • Develops and executes project plan, quality reviews and provide recommendations.
  • Solves project issues and risks (technical and non-technical) through identification, evaluation, tracking, communication and mediation.
  • Develops and presents project documentation and communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements the financial management plan which may include estimating, tracking, controlling, forecasting and/or reporting project financials.
  • Participates and/or may lead project management process improvement and best practice assignments.
  • Facilitate internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Help to motivate the team and keep them excited with a consistent focus on continuous improvement for the team and business. Protect team from outside distractions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the job:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years previous Scrum Master or project management experience and/or relevant experience within a software development environment.
  • Professional Services experience
  • Must be comfortable working in a Waterfall/Agile hybrid environment.
  • Experience with Corporate Treasury Management functionality and core banking integration.
  • Experience with private cloud hosting and software integration concepts.
  • Experience working on projects of high degree of complexity that spans more than one geography.
  • PMI Certification, working towards obtaining or approved equivalent which may include experience.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks. Strong knowledge of scrum theory, rules and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates strong accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to work fast paced, global, matrix organization

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed for the job:

  • Scrum Master Certified preferred.
  • JIRA experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs.
  • Agile Certified Practitioner experience desirable.
  • PMP Certification preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Standard work environment
  • Majority time spent on PC (Phys. Req.)
  • Some travel may be required.
