Job Description

The RAU School of Technology is a centralized team responsible for developing technical content and delivering programs for several technical resources. These include RA domain experts, channel partners, field and delivery resources, end-users, and more. The primary responsibility for the Project Manager is to manage programs and content development projects related to Process Control and Controllers/IO.

You will report to the RAU PMO Manager who is located in Mayfield Heights, OH.

What you will do

• Be the main liaison between RAU and Process and Controllers/IO business units.
• Create the RAU development roadmap for Process and Controllers/IO projects.
• Plan large competency programs for specific launches by applying basic Instruction design principles.
• Determine best formats for specific content areas and audiences (for example, classroom versus e-Learning).
• Plan each project including resources, timeline, milestones, and so on, using Project Management best practices and tools.
• Explain the formats, requirements, and development process of deliverables to SMEs and content developers.
• Be the coach for SMEs working on the content. SMEs may include borrowed resources who do not develop often. Make instructional design recommendations.
• Conduct basic initial reviews to ensure that the outputs meet the required standards.
• Track status in live dashboards or other visible tools and present status in meetings at multiple levels.
• Determine roadblocks / issues and work to remove them.
• Provide feedback to the team to make the development process simple and user-friendly for SMEs.
• Take advantage of professional development opportunities to stay current on competency best practices, Project Management techniques, and so on.
• Although content development is not a primary function, the project manager may jump in, if needed, to support the team (for example, with reviews)

Skills you have

• Technical experience with RA products and technologies - enough to work with partners and SMEs.
• Project management background (individual or group)
• Communicate (written and verbal) to multiple levels.
• Manage the needs of our partners to bring value to them (a partner).
• Head up meetings, delegate tasks, provide feedback.
• Motivate and work with others to make projects successful.
• Collaborate and build trust with others involved at different levels.
• Address issues directly, when needed, and keep projects moving.
• Manage multiple streams of work in parallel to completion.
• Organize and manage details (like dates), and multiple moving parts.
• Accept ambiguity and create actions from information provided.
• Make project decisions and stand by them.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
• Ability to travel 10% in USA and Canada

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related field
• 2+ years of automation or related experience
• 2+ years of project management, training design or delivery experience
• Move projects to completion.
• Hands-On Experience with Logix controllers and I/O products
• Hands-On Experience with Plant PAx
• Instructional design skills (identifying tasks)
• PMP certification
