Project Manager- Gainesville, GA

The Project Manager plays a key role in the transformation of the offsite warehouse structure at GNV from seven warehouse locations to one warehouse location. The new warehouse will store primes for gum production, including raw materials, packaging, gum base, semi-finished goods used as donors for internal contract packaging, bulk gum donors for external contract packaging, as well as oversized maintenance repair parts and ancillary storage. The project manager will work closely with people of our local, regional, and global supply chain and engineering teams, with the commercial teams, with our logistics partners (3PL), and customers to develop the standard for the newly leased GNV offsite warehouse.

What are we looking for?

The Project Manager has a working knowledge of all site specific and business policies such as Quality, Safety, Environmental, and Personnel. This individual will need full understanding of our business objectives and be able to direct their work towards supporting successful obtainment of the goals.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain discipline is preferred or 5 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Skills/Experience:

• Process management experience

• IT literate: high level of Microsoft suite, JDA, and Atlas

• Demonstrated capability to develop effective strategies to reduce losses in manufacturing site and warehouses.

• Experienced at using data to find the root cause of complex problems.

• Knowledge and experience with scheduling, raw materials, packaging materials used at the GNV site.

• Contemporary leadership, organizational, and time management skills.

• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/initiatives within budget limits.

• Some travel may be required.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor, and refine the warehouse strategies for the new site. This includes safety, quality, IT infrastructure and systems, layout, racking, etc.

• Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.

• Support production leaders who have offsite warehouse responsibility to improve the strategies by training, coaching, and assessing the warehouse improvement tools.

• Coordinate with GNV on site warehouse Production Leaders to improve process of transferring materials from offsite to onsite warehouse locations (physically and systemically).

• Reduces and improves maintenance work wherever feasible, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of warehouse, process and equipment while protecting and prolonging the economic life of warehouse assets at optimal cost.

• Provides operational and technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.

• Supports Planner/Scheduler in development of maximizing available space at new warehouse.

• Gate keeper of all new projects and changes at the warehouse to ensure that proper failure mode analysis is applied before the design and installation. This includes potential vendors utilizing the space.

• Ensures that spare parts list, equipment manuals and prints are provided for all new installations and that they are consistent with established standards.

• Present improvement opportunities and plans to Site Leadership Team.

• Keep up to date with new technologies and processes outside of MCNA that improve reliability.
