Summary

This position is a Construction Project Management role within the San Diego Facilities organization. The individual hired will be the primary leader in the execution of multiple construction projects. This position has overall responsibilities of leading all size of construction projects from the planning stage through design and construction, validation and qualification, to eventual delivery of the space for occupancy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the planning, execution, and control of all project-related activities for multiple projects
  • Develop and manage detailed budgets, project schedules, scopes of work, overall project execution plans
  • Understand and manage an RFP including compiling bid documents and package, managing RFIs, evaluating and leveling bids, and eventual award and contract execution
  • Exhibit leadership managing multidisciplinary project teams and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Schedule and lead regular project coordination meetings following communication best practices
  • Provide monthly cost control reporting and maintain a deep understanding of project cashflows
  • Review and approve progress billing packages understanding: terms of agreements, schedule of values, subcontractor support documents, conditional/unconditional waivers and releases
  • Conduct page turns at each design stage of the project for completeness, adherence to company standards, budget and schedule constraints, overall project goals
  • Manage, review, track Changes to the Work, understand internal change management process
  • Ensure and oversee project safety and compliance with EHS recommendations and observations
  • Serve as central point of communication and coordination for project
  • Understand and follow project control policies, procedures, processes and documentation
  • Understand and comply with company Facilities Change Control process
  • Understand and advise on risk mitigation strategies and actions, escalate and report as needed
  • Manage relationships and drive partnerships with landlord, suppliers, contractors
  • Ensure timely communication with project stakeholders and quality of deliverables
  • Maintain a physical and regular presence on job sites, assist with decisions onsite as needed
  • Inspire team and our internal and external partners with mindset for innovation and operational excellence in facilities solutions and exceeding customer satisfaction/experience


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in construction management or engineering
  • 3-4+ years' experience managing construction projects
  • Knowledge of project management, construction, permitting and inspection process
  • Ability to read and understand architectural plans
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of facilities and construction software: Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Excel/Project, Smartsheet
  • Please note, this role will work onsite at our Headquarters in San Diego, CA.
