Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for assigned projects from award kickoff through closure, with significant responsibilities including customer support, project communications, performance relative to schedule and cost objectives and scope tracking. Duties include:

• Follow open equipment projects from customer order through completion
• Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet customer, quality and cost goals
• Ability to review project requirements and identify scope changes that customers present
• Organize various customer milestones and manage all relevant necessary resources
• Interact with suppliers and cross functional team members from Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management and Manufacturing to solicit input establishing project proposals
• Lead, coach and motivate project team members on a proactive basis
• Preparation and communication of project status meetings and escalation of critical issues.
• Professional management of customer relationship and requests
• Real-time communication with Axis departments on project developments
• Assist in other projects and departments as needed, including process and costing
• Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution
• Complete “lessons learned” evaluations to help improve on future projects
• Occasional travel to meet customers, support all proposal activities with technical and commercial content

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering field or significant experience directly managing engineering-based projects
• 4+ years of experience in automation or engineering services industry
• 2+ years of experience in Project Management
• Experience with tool design and welding applications preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Project preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of Project Management best practices and processes
• Comfortable with speaking technically in front of groups (co-workers & customers)
